Long Night under the Philadelphia Stars
May 21st
At 12:20 left the Marriott hotel and listen to Ryan Adams's black sheets of rain while its rain as I looked for a place to sleep.
Listening to Three Hunters from the two towers film and just reached the part where Aragon asked "Legolas what do your elves' eyes see" I feel the three hunters: Aragon, Legolas, and Gimli as they Hunt down the orc pack who stole their two friends. I am hunting for an excellent spot to crash and feel safe to try to sleep. Likely I will stay awake as a way of protecting myself and belongs.
At 1:45, I decide to take an hour-long nap. I set an alarm for three then, I shut my eyes. But when I say I woke up at the perfect time, I mean it. When I woke up people had started to gather in front of me waiting to check in at the ticket counter. But even with my super shot haircut, the amount of times I have called sir, which I found funny, comes with a blessing and a curse. Meaning, I have my hydro flask as a weapon, similar to Rapunzel using her frying pan to whack people in the 2010 film Tangled. Using my water bottle to protect myself and my stuff while I slept.
Writing about last night's festivities while listening to my moody playlist with a lot of breakup songs is helping give emotion to the piece. In the moment of the chaos of power walking around to different ticketing and baggage claims areas, I got through it.
Four in the morning, I begin my journey to terminal F where I found a few people waiting for their flight. I plug my phone in just in case of an emergency. For those who know me, I have the worst patience, I can't sit still or wait a long time. So waiting 12 hours to fly back to Canton took a lot out of me.
But two American Airlines workers showed kindness that I was not expecting but is greatly appreciated. First was the woman who told me about getting dinner at the Marriott Hotel. She also gave me more information about my next steps for the long night ahead. Second was the man I saw coming into to work at terminal F and who then saw me pacing inform of the contour ticket counter and ask if I was okay. I shared the synopsis of my long endeavor and that I was supposed to wait two hours before my flight. He said no way and checked me in so that I could find food and a more comfortable place to sit before my flight. Their kindness reminded me "that there is [still] some good in this world. and it's worth fighting for." As Sam tells Frodo at the end of Two Towers.
At 10:21 AM, I sit seat 1A, where I slept on my flight to Ogdensburg. Where I am about to begin a beautiful adventure into the world of agriculture!
