Adventue to Sanarac
This past Wednesday and Thursday I got the day and a half off to see my fiend, Abhainn. I met her my sophomore spring semester, essentially a mutual friend set us up and it worked. we are now at the point in our friendship where we send each other memes and in my generation that is a high quality friendship!
Abhainn is had Wednesday off so after work for me I hit the road to Saranac lake. After making a few wrong turns I made it to the SLU conference camp where alumni and facility can come to have meeting to relax.
Wednesday night we drove to lake placid to get dinner at a Asian restaurant. But first we kind of kidnapped ourselves. Okay, I can here the chaos, but let me explain. She needed money from the ATM so we walked to the complete other side of Lake Placid to find her an ATM. When the San Francisco trolly looking trolley was drove towards us and let us get on. We thought it would be a joke if we got and saw what would happen. Then we couldn’t believe it, we were riding the trolley. The reason we used kidnapped is because we didn’t know where the trolley was taking us and what to do. We got off where I had parked my truck which was convenient and then we walked to the restaurant. Where I had sushi for the first time. I would highly recommend the smoked salmon sushi, it was very good. As we were driving back, we stopped for ice cream that has been open for over a century I believe. When we got back chatted and then went to bed.
The next morning, I went for a short run then drove back down to Lake Placid to ski on the roller ski track to get my work out in. I still get a bit nervous about going down the hills on roller skis when i can most of the time full send it on the snow skis. But a great workout nonetheless.
When I got back i hung out solo while Abhainn, had to work. When I was watching a new movie on her Netflix, I felt the sharpest and burning pain in my foot. Come to find out that I was stung by something which made driving interesting. MY foot turned into a foot burrito.
After my foot scare, Abhainn and her boyfriend Finn, got in my truck and we drove all over Saranac to save a turtle that she hit the day before. After talking to the refuge place, we went to find supplies to help heal the turtle. So with my stuff in the bed of the truck, the turtle and Finn in the back, and Abhainn and I in the front seats as we listened to music trying to save our new shelled friend.
Boy oh boy did I have a absolute amazing time with Abhainn and Finn. Only a day later and I missed being around them. Abhainn with be gone next semester living her best life in the Adirondacks so I won’t get to see her but before my camp in VT, I am going to give her a book i finished and wrote in as a present for her to have and read in the Adirondacks and some other goodies so that even though we can’t talk every day she can still have a bit of me with her.
So from me here at the farm,
Happy Trails!!
