Silky and Stranger

Silky and Stranger, aren’t those two Grateful Dead songs?
Yes, you are correct. There are two cats that live on the farm named after the Grateful Dead, Bob is a big Deadhead (Grateful Dead fan) The two black barn cats that Bob and Flip adopted last spring help decrease the mice and other creatures from living in the barn. In the beginning, they would chill in their cage as they got comfortable with their surroundings and now one could go days without seeing them but they eventually turn up.

Silky and Stranger are identical cats but personality wise they are different.

Silky is very curious about what is going on but, he is still a bit skittish. When it comes to feeding time he comes around and checks me out. I even got close enough to boop him on the nose.

While Stranger, as the name says, doesn't want to be around anyone and will watch from a distance.

Today, while relaxing at my writing desk I see a black fur ball walking by the chopped firewood out of the corner of my eye. At first, I thought it was a squirrel or something else. When I turned my head completely I was gitty with joy to see that it was a cat. I am going to take guess it was Silky because he didn’t run away when he saw me through the window. I hadn’t seen either Silky or Stranger in a while, so seeing them was a sigh of relief and just made me happy.

All I want to do is cuddle with them or have them just live with me in the Saltbox, my cabin. I want to bring a dog into the Saltbox too. tune in next time where you get to meet littleGrasse’s mascot!!!
